Best setting for distortion on my guitar amp?

I own a Marshall MG 15CD amplifier for my guitar. Its a small amp but it does the job for me. Just wondering on setting the knobs (EQ) what would give me the best "raw, punchy" distortion? I have B, Contour, and Treble features. And obviously have Overdrive with gain and volume. Any suggestions?
