Solent boat fishing - wher is best?

I am taking out a boat later toady to go fishing in the Solent. I hope to catch some mackerel or sea-b. Can anyone tell me where I should go to stand the best chance? The tide will be on the way out when I go out (not the best I understand but it's the only time I can go). Any help from local fishermen would be gratefully received. Also, what tackle is best? Thanks
